Instruments, Rates, And Other Information
Fun, friendly music lessons in your home!
I currently live in the Monadnock region of NH and am available to come to your home for a private lesson.
Instruments Taught- Drumset/Percussion, Guitar, Bass, Saxophone, Banjouke, Pennywhistle/Low Whistle, Beginner Piano,
and Music Theory
Rates- $30 for a half-hour lesson, $50 for an hour lesson (or more depending on where you live). Discounts for group lessons,
multiple students in the same family/residence, and for student referrals.
Statement- My goal in teaching music lessons is to help you learn what you want to learn! They are your lessons after all! I strive to
make every lesson fun, interesting, and challenging (if you're up for it!), and can offer many insights and tips, such as how
to transition more smoothly from a 'D' to a 'G' chord whilst learning how to play guitar, how to make those ghost notes on
drum set really happening, how to improve finger speed whilst playing sax, how to read/understand music more
effectively, and much, much more. I really enjoy teaching and watching my students progress, from learning their first
chords to mastering their first (or second, third, fourth..) song.
I also offer ''split'' lessons on different instruments. For example, a half-hour on guitar and then a half-hour on drums.
Experience- I have taught private lessons for over 11 years now, working with students in a wide age range from 8-50 years old (and
am open to teaching students who are outside of this range!). I have over 18 years of experience playing
drumset/percussion, over 15 years of experience playing guitar, 7 years of experience playing saxophone, over 11 years of
experience playing piano, and went to Cleveland State University for music performance and composition. I am well-
versed in many different genres, including rock, jazz, pop, concert music (''classical''), folk, funk, and Latin styles, among
others.
I also teach lessons to children and adults with special needs and developmental disabilities! I am now in my 4th year of
working with this population and am able to modify my lessons to the capabilities of the individual.
Cancellation Policy- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the lesson, otherwise you will be responsible for paying for
the full lesson. Exceptions are made for emergency situations.

Testimonials- ''I have been taking drum lessons from Garrett for six months; in this short time, I have learned how to
read music, and my technical proficiency has improved with leaps and bounds. Furthermore, I am starting to identify
my own style, which I credit in large part to Garrett’s tutelage and influence. Garrett’s skills as a musician are rivaled
only by his aptitude for teaching. He is able to simplify and deconstruct even the more complex pieces from each
genre I’ve brought to him, and then demonstrate the proper way to think about and approach these pieces whether
they’re whole songs or individual beats. I cannot praise my experience with Garrett more, and I recommend him to
those who have never sat behind a kit before, and even experienced musicians looking to delve more deeply into their
technique and music theory.'' - KW, drum student
''Garrett has been teaching our eleven year old son drums the last 6 months. Our son had taken drum lessons
previously with someone else, but was never overly excited. Garrett made his lessons fun and incorporates music
that our son has an interest in. . . Garrett comes to our home, which helps with our busy schedules. He is always
punctual and very kind towards our son. Our son describes Garrett as " he is really nice and will always help me with
new beats that I want to learn". We are thrilled to have Garrett working with our son and would highly recommend
him for music lessons.'' - BP and NP, parents of a drum/guitar student
